Does anyone here shop only with brands that are green? How do you find them?

Recently I saw a video about girlfriend collective, and how they only use eco friendly materials for their clothes. Anyone else doing anything similar?

      • I think shopping exclusively with green brands is becoming much more popular. I’ve been doing this for years. Few of my tricks if it helps:

There are many online resources available that can help you find green brands in your industry. For example, Good On You is an app that rates clothing brands based on their environmental impact, ethical labor practices, and animal welfare.

Look for third-party certifications: Some organizations offer certifications to companies that meet certain environmental standards. Look for certifications like Fair Trade Certified, Forest Stewardship Council, and Certified B Corporation.

Check out local farmers’ markets and specialty stores: If you’re looking for food or household products, local farmers’ markets and specialty stores often carry products from smaller, sustainable brands.

Read labels: When you’re shopping, take the time to read the labels and look for information about the brand’s environmental practices. Some brands may even list their certifications or environmental initiatives right on their product packaging.

        • Nice to see I’m not the only freak looking at green brands 😄
@YKK , agree with you completely! A couple of other things I do is to look for brands with “transparent sustainability reports” – many companies publish detailed sustainability reports that outline their environmental impact and the steps they are taking to reduce it. So find brands that are transparent about their sustainability practices. Patagonia and Unilever are a couple I found in this way.

Also use eco-friendly search engines: Some search engines, like Ecosia, use their profits to support reforestation efforts around the world. Beats giving Google all the money !

          • My daughters b/day is coming up, I’m going to actively buy a carbon neutral or green gift. Just need to figure out which one.
